Oh. My. God.
Body parts I didn't even know I had hurt like no other today. LOL I think I may have overdone the walking yesterday. But I'm so not complaining.
I had intended on doing nothing yesterday but writing and chatting with everyone. But once I found out
lyricallysane was driving in from 3 hours away to go to the fair...well I figured I could drag myself (on the hottest freaking day of the year omg) there as well. ;)
Got there at about 11:45 (took the bus, cheaper and easier) and started wandering around. Wanted to see the Bengal Tigers but couldn't find them! :( I'll have to see if they have another showing of them next time I go. Found the box office for the grandstand shows and decided to check just for fun and see if they had any tickets available for the show that night. Found out they had a single seat just off the floor, dead center. I thanked the man and walked away, then called both my mom and Kel asking for their opinions. They both told me I'd be stupid if I gave it up (in kinder words though) so I snatched it up before someone else did.
Wandered around with
lyricallysane from 1-4, when we went to meet up with her family. Saw some horrible storm clouds coming in, and were just hoping it held off til her mom got there. I went into a building and saved her a seat in case her mom didn't get to her, and they all ducked into the building with me before the complete downpour hit. We hung out til the storm passed and then they headed home, while I wandered around some more until the grandstand opened.
The concert was Reba with Carolyn Dawn Johnson as the opener. I knew I liked a few CDJ songs so I was looking forward to both. And CDJ did a great job! I was really impressed, she's very cute and energetic and you can tell she's having the time of her life. I really hope she gets the success that she deserves.
Reba was..phenomenal. I was blown away, seriously. And I only hope I look that good at her age! LOL She was so much fun, cracking jokes in between songs, dancing around, you name it. She sang four songs off her new album (her two hit singles, her new single and one other really fun song), along with a bunch of her older stuff (The Greatest Man I Never Knew, The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia, Forever Love (which she dedicated to the men and women in the armed forces and had pictures of them leaving/coming home to their families throughout), Take It Back/Why Haven't I Heard From You (medley), and others. Linda Davis was there as her guest, and as a backup singer, so she let Linda take the stage to sing solo and they also did Does He Love You together as the pre-encore finale. The finale was Fancy, which is one of my all-time favorite Reba songs. By this time I was sore and blistered to hell but I didn't even care. I was thinking about skipping the concert because I was so tired but I'm so glad I didn't. I'd be kicking myself forever if I hadn't stayed.
SO much fun. Then I rode the bus home with a lot of drunk people, got myself food, called Kel and went to bed! :)
