newdaydawning79: (Chris Cagle - Earnhardt tribute)

Wow.

Tonight reminded me why I'm always going to be a country girl at heart.

Meet and Greets for country artists are just so...intimate! One at a time, walk right up to the person, say hello, get an autograph, (if you're not like us and try to take pictures without film) a picture with you literally right against them, a goodbye, thank you and a smile. (I got a hug too but that's because I asked nicely) I've never been to a NON-country Meet and Greet in my life but I've heard that in a lot of cases they're not quite the same. Which is understandable because safety can become a huge concern.

Anyway, that aside...holy shit, did I have a good time. My feet are literally tingling they ache so bad but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Chris Cagle was...fantastic. From the moment I met him until the moment he finished his set...the man is one of a kind. I have no words for how much he impressed me, especially after having to take six months off for complete vocal rest. He's dynamic, he has the crowd eating out of his hand from the moment he hits the stage. He kept saying that he wants to be on the fair schedule next year because he was having so much fun. *crosses fingers that this actually happens* And he sang Drift Away which breaks me on its own...but then changed it up a bit and made it a Dale Earnhardt tribute. Guh. I may have gotten teary, but I'll deny it if you ask.

And Rascal Flatts. Holy everything, I just...damn. Yeah, let me just say that I love Jay more than life itself right now. The man not only playing a bass guitar (which a lot of you know I have a thing for bass players by now *g*), he plays the piano. *whimpers* Not only did he play the piano, he played Piano Man and we all sang along. It was awesome. And then Joe Don makes me cry by singing The River after a speech about never giving up on your dreams. *sighs* Of course they sang all of my favorite songs of theirs, it wouldn't be a RF concert if they didn't! The kicker was the encore though. They sang parts of Pour Some Sugar On Me and You Give Love A Bad Name. I was in heaven. Literally.

Three rolls of film have been taken (once we put it in the damn camera *headdesks*) and at least one or two will make their way to the one hour photo tomorrow because...yes. Need to relive this for as long as I can. *g*

(And I just realized how appropriate this icon is...Chris!!!!)

Woo-boy. My mom hasn't even met you, but somewhere she's feeling intensely jealous for a reason she doesn't understand. She so desperately wanted to see Rascall Flatts, but her weekend is packed with family obligations.

I'm glad you had a good time!

Oh no!

My coworker's girlfriend wanted to go too but had her cousin's wedding to attend instead. So she called me a bitch and made me SWEAR I'd take lots of pictures *g*

*sniffs* RF. They need to remember where the middle of the country is. :'( No one remembers us anymore. I remember when coming to Texas, specifically DFW, was a *requirement* on tours. :'(

Me too! It was like...a rite of passage or something, at the very least

*hugs*

Now DFW is sounding like Nashville. No one EVER plays there, I swear...lol

Sounds like you guys had a blast, and I'm so damn jealous!

Chrissy!! hey you!!

It was a lot of fun. I'm headachy, have no voice and my feet still hurt to walk on this morning but...give me the chance and I'd be Right. Back. There. tonight. :)

Good to see you! How have you been?

I don't know why I'm just reading this now, but that's not the point.

WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THEY SANG BON JOVI AS AN ENCORE?

You are so fired. ;)
